Glendive, Montana, May 19, 2015 - - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Naomi Austby-Grove, RN has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2014.

Naomi has worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department and Acute Care for nine years. She exemplifies GMC's core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence and is known for being kind, professional and helpful to all patients and employees. A fellow co-worker shared, "I feel she is one of the best co-workers I have worked with in my career. She is very much a team player and an excellent nurse."

In her spare time, Naomi enjoys doing photography. "I truly appreciate receiving this award. It's humbling to be recognized by my co-workers this way," she said.

Kim Thompson
Glendive, Montana, May 19, 2015 - - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Kim Thompson has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2014.

Kim is a transcriptionist in the Health Information Management (HIM) department. She has worked at GMC for 6 years and exemplifies GMC's core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Kim is known for always willing to help out in any way she can without complaining, even willing to step up and help in other areas. A fellow co-worker shared, "She's a great asset to GMC. She's dependable and contributes to team morale. Kim takes pride in her work and strives to make reports presentable and professional."

In her spare time, Kim enjoys reading and outdoor activities. "It's an honor to receive this award. I work with a wonderful team," she said.

Janine Babb
Glendive, Montana, May 19, 2015 - - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Janine Babb has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2014.

Janine has worked at GMC since 1995, where she began as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). In 2001, she moved, and in 2006, came back and has worked as a Ward Clerk in Acute Care since. She exemplifies GMC's core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Janine is known for her common sense approach and courtesy. She goes above and beyond what is required of her, and always has a smile on her face. She treats patients and staff with professionalism and kindness "Janine is a strong member of our team. She supports both the Emergency Department and Acute Care, helping in any way she can. She strives to provide the best service not only to our patients but to our team. She represents GMC well," Shawna Dorwart, RN, Director of Clinical Services said.

In her spare time, Janine enjoys spending time with family and traveling to see her grandchildren. "Receiving this recognition was an honor, and I feel very humbled. Wonderful co-workers and patients make working at GMC a very rewarding job for me," Janine said.

Mary Fassett
Glendive, Montana, May 8, 2014 - - Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Mary Fassett, RN has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2014.

Mary has worked at GMC since October 2011, where she began as a nurse in Extended Care and then accepted a position as the Infection Control Preventionist and Employee Health Nurse. She exemplifies GMC's core values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Prior to coming to Glendive, Mary worked in adult Critical Care Units as well as Cardiac Catheterization Labs with certification as a CCRN nurse. She goes the extra mile to work closely with GMC's Laboratory Department, doctors and the Dawson County Health Department to monitor and track reportable diseases and infections. She also serves as an active member of GMC's Safety Committee, serving as a member on the Employee and Patient Safety Subcommittees. "Mary is in a role where you need to be able to take initiative. She has been influential in making changes to current practices in infection control based on evidence-based practices. She is currently developing a plan for infection control and the Clinic to work more closely together. Mary exceeds expectations in her performance," James Barnick, RN, Acute Care Director of Nursing said.

In her spare time, Mary enjoys sewing, reading and gardening. "Receiving this recognition was an honor. Enjoy life, smile often, and thank God for our many blessings," Mary said.

Marti Phalen
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Marti Phalen has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2013.

Marti first began at GMC in Gabert Clinic as a Patient Service Representative in 2004 and transferred into the position of Staff Scheduler in 2006. She handles staff scheduling for Acute Care, Behavioral Health and the Emergency Room. She also helps with scheduling for Extended Care and Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH). "I cannot think of an employee more deserving of this honor. Marti goes out of her way to serve our patients/residents by making certain they have the staff needed to care for them and treats every employee in a fair, respectful and compassionate manner. She is truly outstanding and unwavering in her commitment to the patients, employees and GMC," Shawna Dorwart, Director of Clinical Services, said.

In her spare time, Marti enjoys helping out at her local church, spending time with family and friends and traveling. "I really am honored to have received this award. I feel as though I work among a tremendous team at GMC and am so grateful for their nomination to receive it. I am proud to call GMC my place of work and am blessed to get to serve this community with such committed and caring professionals," Marti said.

Danny Henderson
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Danny Henderson has been recognized by his co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2013.

Danny has been a Physical Therapist at GMC for close to five years. He graduated with is Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. "Danny provides exceptional patient care and gets very positive remarks from his patients. He does an excellent job of being very effective with time management and is respectful to all patients. He acts with the highest of integrity, is very compassionate and provides excellent patient care," Ty Dufner, Manager of Rehabilitative Services, said.

In his spare time, Danny enjoys hunting, fishing and being outdoors, as well as spending time with his family. "I am honored to be chosen for this award. I work with a great group of employees in my department that make my work enjoyable," Danny said.

Nancy Shipman
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Nancy Schipman has been recognized by her coworkers and named Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2012.

Nancy has worked at GMC since 1999, where she began as a cook at Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH), served as the Food Services Supervisor and now works as the Caterer for GMC's Dietary Department. Nancy embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. "Nancy has been very dedicated in helping with staffing shortages. She asks where she is needed and maintains a positive attitude. She gives great customer service and receives compliments on her caring service from both staff and customers.

Nancy is very deserving of this award," Norm McDowell, GMC General Food Manager, said.

In her spare time, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family and playing a game of pinochle. "This recognition is really humbling and an honor to me. I love what I do and am just doing my job to the best of my ability," Nancy said.

Amado Melencio
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Amado Melencio has been recognized by his co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2012. "I am happy. Working at GMC is a big opportunity for me. It took 23 years for me to become an immigrant. I am from the Philippines, and working here helps me provide much better for my family," Amado said.

Amado has worked at GMC for over a year and a half as a Gabert Clinic Housekeeper. Amado embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. In his spare time, Amado enjoys spending time with his sister in Glendive, gardening, cleaning, fishing and watching action movies. He has four children in the Philippines and a wife. "I miss my family, but this is a good chance for me. I try to always smile and be happy because I get to work," he said.

Amado's hard work and dedication to excellence was recognized by his co-workers during the nomination process. "He is the best housekeeper we've ever had. He does his job with a smile on his face at all times. He is an extremely hard worker and does an excellent job."

Carol Wilburn
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Carol Wilburn has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2012. "Patients are always number one, no matter what. It is our job to do good work, but it's sure nice to be recognized for it. It's humbling," Carol said.

Carol has worked at GMC since 2002 and has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Acute Care since 2004. She embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. When not at work, Carol enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies. "Carol truly exemplifies the meaning of caring. She goes above and beyond to make certain her patients are well cared for. She has compassion that is very appreciated by her patients," Shawna Dorwart, Acute Care Director of Nursing said.

Lori Bouchard
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Lori Bouchard has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2012. "When a person works with such a positive and talented team of co-workers, it's very rewarding in itself. It's a privilege to be a part of the GMC family. I feel honored to be chosen by them," Lori said.

Lori has worked at GMC for over 20 years and has worked as the Perioperative Tech for the Surgical Services/Ambulatory Care Department since 2008. She serves on the GMC Jeans for Charity Committee and the Holiday Party Committee. Lori embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. She goes the extra mile in her job by assisting staff, medical providers and patients. "Lori is hardworking, organized and brings a positive attitude to work with her. She does many things behind the scenes, which allow us to provide better care to our patients. She is liked and respected by employees throughout GMC and is known for her willingness to help. We simply do better when Lori is working," Lea Striegel, Surgical Services Supervisor, said.

Matt Lundgren
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Matt Lundgren has been recognized by his co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2011. "It is humbling to be recognized by my co-workers. I enjoy where I work, and this is an honor," Matt said.

Matt has worked at GMC for over three years as a floor technician in Housekeeping. He embraces GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence. Matt not only displays a positive attitude and a tremendous work ethic, but he consistently goes above and beyond his job description to ensure exceptional patient satisfaction and safety. He is also a member of GMC's Decontamination Team. "In the past year, Matt has really brought himself forward in how he communicates and represents himself as a member of our team. He takes great pride in how GMC looks, and when he is needed somewhere and has to put his own work aside, he truly tries to smile and go where he is needed. Matt is dependable and a great employee. He is an asset to our organization and I'm glad he is a part of our team," Diana Levi, GMC Housekeeping Supervisor, said.

Randi Stockwell
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Randi Stockwell, a nurse in Acute Care, has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2011.

Randi has been a nurse at GMC for 9 years, where she has displayed the upmost compassion for all patients and staff that she supervises. She continues to be attentive to learning new skills and acquiring advanced certifications such as becoming both a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Randi has also volunteered to teach advanced courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). As a supervisor, Randi is willing to assume personal accountability, accept change and maintains the desire to learn and develop her critical thinking skills.

Additionally, Randi is a member of the Emergency Department Construction Committee and actively participates in planning events to reward and recognize staff. She does not hesitate to go the extra mile in making sure that the patients and their families not only have quality care but a gracious and caring atmosphere where they feel safe and welcome to verbalize their needs. Alicia Brown
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Alicia Brown, a cook at The Heritage, has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2011.

Alicia served as a dietary cook at GMC from 1994 to 2004. She began working at The Heritage in 2008. "The tenants and staff that I have the privilege to work with make my job such a rewarding experience," Alicia said.

Embracing GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence, Alicia consistently provides quality customer service and displays a positive attitude with tenants, guests and co-workers. Alicia is also willing to regularly take on additional responsibilities in addition to being a cook. In fact, Alicia devised a system for menu/shopping planning that a Montana State Surveyor stated as being worthy of patenting last year. "Alicia has exceptional organizational skills. I consider her a Gold Star Employee! It was not hard to come up with reasons why Alicia deserves this honor," Kristine Hubbard, Director of The Heritage, commented.

Shirley Sadowski
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Shirley Sadowski, an Activity Assistant at Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH), has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2011.

Shirley has been a GMC employee since February of 2010 and is responsible for creating and maintaining activities for EMVH residents. "It's such a privilege to work with all of our residents. They have given so much," she said.

Embracing GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence, Shirley provides excellent care of the residents she serves. She is always courteous and works with a positive attitude. She brings a smile to everyone's faces with her enthusiasm and goes out of her way to make residents have exceptional activity experiences.

Shirley also volunteers on the FAST Committee at EMVH, which is a committee that helps ensure EMVH residents are safe and assists to prevent residents from falling. "I wanted to work at a place where I can trust the people I work with. I love my job and know the people I work with have integrity. Receiving this recognition is very much an honor," Shirley added.

Sue Colbrese
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Sue Colbrese, a GMC Materials Management Clerk, has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2010.

Sue has been a GMC employee for five years. She is primarily responsible for supplying GMC, Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH), The Heritage and Home Health/Hospice with adequate supplies. "My favorite areas to keep stocked with supplies are the Nursery and Labor Delivery departments. I enjoy keeping my areas organized," Sue said.

She has volunteered for several GMC Foundation events, has been an active member of the GMC Employee Benefits Committee and is active on the GMC Relay for Life team. Julie Borst
Julie has been a GMC employee for ten years. She is known for her positive attitude, smile and her willingness to volunteer. In addition to assisting multiple departments on a daily basis, Julie has served as the telemedicine technician for six years. She ensures that the telemedicine equipment is working and that each telemedicine encounter is properly connected and working for participants. Julie has helped grow GMC's telemedicine service to one of the largest in the state.

Dean Beacom, RN
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Dean Beacom, RN has been recognized by his co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2010. Dean works as a nurse in GMC's Acute Patient Care.

Dean graduated from Miles Community College in May of 2007 and currently serves as the local Montana Nurses Association Chapters Vice President. During his tenure as a nurse, Dean has become respected as an exceptional nurse in all areas of Acute Care. Dean continues to embrace GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.

In his spare time, Dean enjoys working on computers, playing bag pipes, doing construction work around his house, running, gardening and spending time with his family. "None of us works in a vacuum. I'm only as good as the people I work with and those that trust me," Dean shared.

Gina Giles
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) recently announced that Gina Giles of Glendive has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2009. Gina works in the GMC Purchasing Department and has been an employee at GMC for the past ten years.

Gina has been an active member of the GMC Safety Committee and has worked on various special projects throughout the facility. She stepped up to become an important part of the GMC Safety Committee-leading the Safety Rewards Program, assisting with the Decontamination Team and facilitating the Hazardous Materials Program.

Gina also works flexible shifts to help cover when coworkers are gone, as well as volunteers her time to help clean up the GMC grounds. During her award ceremony, Gina stated, "It's nice to be recognized by my coworkers. Being part of a great team makes my job easier."

Katie Bonelli Jirsa
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) recently announced that Katie Bonelli of Glendive has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2009. Katie is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Eastern Montana Veterans Home (EMVH) and works in the special care unit.

Having worked as a CNA at EMVH since October of 2006, Katie has participated in additional training and education that has been beneficial for the care provided to residents, as well as to her own professional development. Katie has worked at honing her knowledge and her skills, and has been willing to share them with her co-workers.

During her award ceremony, Katie stated that she was honored to receive the recognition. "It makes me happy-making the residents happy makes me happy," commented Katie. Mandy Hoffman
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) announced today that Mandy Hoffman of Glendive has been recognized by her co-workers and named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2009. Mandy is a Radiologic Technologist for GMC Imaging Services. She is known for being an excellent team player who is flexible, knowledgeable and a good resource for her co-workers. Mandy not only consistently helps her co-workers in Imaging Services, but she is ready and willing to help other departments without ever needing to be asked.

Having worked for GMC Imaging Services since August of 2000, Mandy began doing general x-ray and has now advanced to performing duties in Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Ultasound Scan (US). Embracing GMC's core values of respect, integrity, compassion and excellence, Mandy demonstrates a respectful and collaborative relationship with all her co-workers. She also assumes responsibility for her actions, welcoming constructive advice and is quick at being a problem solver and finding workable solutions.

Putting her patients first, Mandy goes above and beyond to provide the best patient care while obtaining excellent x-ray images. During her award ceremony, Mandy described her job as "new and exciting every day" and said she has enjoyed being a part of the team at GMC. "It's become like a family after all these years," Mandy stated.

Linda Baker
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Linda Baker has been selected by her co-workers as the Employee of the Quarter. Over the past four years, Linda has been employed as a Tenant Assistant at The Heritage. She is a devoted employee and a mentor to her co-workers in her leadership style and her compassion for the tenants.
Linda always looks out for the good of the customer and is willing to go beyond the call of duty. She enjoys and deeply cares for the tenants at The Heritage. She is a team player and is willing to help whenever called upon; day in and day out her co-workers marvel at her positive attitude. She helps at GMC fundraisers and is an ambassador for GMC and The Heritage.

Employees cited her for being a team player, as she has demonstrated by her willingness to be a participant in GMC committees. Recently she served on the Employee Complaint Resolution Committee and the Standards for Culture of Service Committee.

Louise Reisenauer
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce that Louise Reisenauer has been selected by her co-workers as the GMC Employee of the Quarter.

Over the last twenty-nine years, Louise has been a committed employee at GMC. When Louise began in 1979, she was a Food Service Worker in the Dietary Department. Louise worked in many support roles in food service throughout her tenure in that department and moved to the Laundry/Linen Department in February of 2000.

Louise always makes sure the last details are taken care of and does not leave her shift until she is sure her responsibilities are taken care of for the day. She is always respectful of others and takes the time to work with new employees, helping to make them feel welcome in the department. She has and continues to be a mentor to many!
Louise is a team player as is demonstrated by her willingness to be a participant in the department's annual Turkey Party skits each November, even though Louise does not like to be on center stage or the center of attention. She has a warm, caring and compassionate demeanor, which are great attributes for someone working in the healthcare field.

Galen Haslid
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) is pleased to announce Galen Haslid has been chosen at GMC Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2008.

Galen has been a dedicated Housekeeping employee for the past seventeen years. His greatest accomplishments have been his dedication to cleanness quality and mentorship of the new employees who join the housekeeping staff. He helps orient them into the department and the unit they will be responsible for at the medical center, always emphasizing the importance of cleanliness to GMC's overall patient satisfaction scores. Focusing on floor care in recent years, Galen has worked as the floor care technician keeping GMC's floors clean and shining.

Galen has always demonstrated respect and compassion for residents and patients while working in patient care areas. In addition to his housekeeping duties, he has provided courier services between GMC's entities. He has worked nights, days, and evening shifts as required by the department to assure housekeeping services are satisfactory.

We are pleased to recognize Galen for his contributions to Glendive Medical Center.
