Foundation Scholarships Assist Those Working Toward Careers in Medicine
Glendive Medical Center (GMC) Foundation offers two health care scholarships, with awards being announced each year in June.
The Sobotka Endowment
August and Mary Sobotka made a wonderful planned gift to Glendive Medical Center by giving the proceeds from the sale of their ranch to the hospital. The Sobotka Endowment was created with their gift, and annually it provides a $5,000 scholarship for a student who is pursuing a career in health care. We welcome all applicants -- candidates must be enrolled full-time and be in the second half of their overall program to apply. Please complete and submit the application on or before April 1.
McGovern Scholarship
The Rita and Kenny McGovern scholarship is also given each spring. The award is $1,000 and is intended for a registered nursing student or a student pursuing a degree in a medical profession. Candidates must be enrolled full-time and in the second half of their program to apply. Please complete and submit the application on or before April 15.

Commenting on the award process, Carol Condon, GMC Foundation Director, said, "We had twelve qualified applicants for scholarships this year. These two young women were outstanding candidates, and the Scholarship Committee felt they would serve as great representatives. Our hope is that any of our scholarship recipients will return to Glendive to practice following graduation."
